Also! Yahoo Enters the AI Era

No hype. No doom.

Just actionable resources and strategies to accelerate your success in the age of AI

Today’s Story

Yahoo recently launched a bevy of AI features across its apps and media properties.

These most notably include: AI-powered features for Yahoo Mail (including its own version of Gmail’s Priority Inbox and AI email summaries) as well as an AI-powered version of its Yahoo News app, leveraging technology from its acquisition of Artifact

As a reminder, Artifact was the “news discovery platform” founded by Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom.

As Yahoo put it, “Yahoo was one of the first to combine human and algorithmic curation of news,” and now, with the acquisition and revamp of the news app, they will be taking this recommendation engine to a new level.

Yahoo will also be piloting AI content summaries for news stories, similar to how Google is generating AI-driven search results to questions themselves, signaling that Yahoo intends to become a platform that uses AI as opposed to a publisher that sells content into model training deals.
