Has backed: CuspAI, a Cambridge startup, which has just emerged from stealth with a $30 million seed round. The company is working on next-gen building materials, aiming to combat climate change.
CuspAI hopes to apply similar advances being seen in drug discovery using algorithmic intelligence to determine ideal materials by inputting desired properties and determining ideal materials and molecules to make them working backwards with AI - CEO Chad Edwards
Meta’s chief AI scientist, Yann Le Cun, has already announced plans to partner with CuspAI for new materials discovery for carbon capture.
CuspAI’s funding comes a few months after ICON unveiled their Phoenix™ robotic construction system, that can print structures out of their own eco-friendly CarbonX™ material ⬇️
This is one of many examples of the “real world” integrating AI to unlock unthinkable productivity gains, such as using algorithms to predict where mineral deposits are located. AI is often lauded as a technological revolution broadly, but these tools have immense real-world applications we are just beginning to see.

This Years Summer Associates Are Being Trained on Gen AI
Several major law firms, including K&L Gates, Dechert, and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, are training their summer associates on generative AI.
Each summer associate at K&L Gates for example was paired with a lawyer identified as a generative AI “power user” to integrate AI tools into their daily work. Signaling firms are already integrating these cutting-edge tools.
While most firms are still experimenting with AI deployment, its use depends significantly on client acceptance, these trainings mark some of the first steps in overall industry acceptance.
