F1 and AI 🏎

Now "You don’t need to run 100 simulations"

No AI hype. No AI doom.

COAI Just actionable resources and strategies to accelerate your success in the age of AI

Today’s Story

  • Formula One teams are increasingly leveraging AI to enhance speed and strategy, reflecting the technology’s growing importance beyond mere novelty and sponsorship.

  • AI-based software can now detect patterns in competitors' behavior, save resources through automation, and perform real-time calculations during races.

  • In fact, Formula One, in partnership with AWS, is using gen AI to analyze historical race data to help teams improve.

  • Laurent Mekies, RB principal, noted that AI could help narrow the performance gap between teams and enhance safety by using algorithms and live data to prevent accidents.

  • Mekies even cited a scenario where AI could interfere during a race and autonomously slow down or stop cars to avoid collisions.

"If you don’t know what you are doing, because we are testing, you’ll spend a lot of resources; Carbon fibre, energy, people,"

"So AI can tell you 'look at that' and 'don’t look at this'. In a specific example it means you don’t need to run 100 simulations."

AI Creations

Each Day we Highlight Cool Gen AI Art and Projects!

  • French collective Obvious has created an AI art generator that can read minds in collaboration with Sorbonne University and funded by the French National Research Agency

  • The project uses functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to visually reconstruct what a person imagines.

  • Participants in the fMRI machine visualized images, which were then algorithmically recreated.

“Every time the artist saw a portrait, the algorithms reconstructed a portrait, and likewise for landscapes” - artnet

  • The project draws parallels to Surrealism, aiming to create images directly from one's mind.

  • Obvious has coined the term "Neo-Surrealism" for this new approach.

Meta’s AI Monetization Plan

  • Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has become “more ambitious and optimistic” about the company’s ability to lead in AI, and thinks the technology can become a “massive business” for the company in the coming years.

  • Zuckerberg Envisions Meta’s AI tooling moving beyond simple chatbots to become AI “agents” that can handle more complex tasks and solve user problems.

  • He sees revenue from AI-powered business messaging as one of the nearer-term opportunities, potentially within the next 5 years.

  • Selling Access to AI Models:

  • Meta may also start charging for access to its larger, more advanced AI models, moving away from its current “open source” approach which Zuckerberg believes could “unlock massive amounts of value”
